Description and objectives:

Digitalization and services have already been asumed as new ways to generate business in the industry. On the one hand, digitalization is a source of competitiveness, impacting the company’s operations and bringing efficiency improvements. On the other hand, servitization as a way to monetize the manufacturer’s specific knowledge of its products, which, leveraged on data, offer opportunities to generate business with an interesting added value and associated margin.

However, generating new lines based on services also involves changing work processes, analyzing where technologies provide real business value and working on training to understand and execute the changes. It is important to have a robust ICT and data infrastructure, as it is often composed of unconnected pieces, which is a bottleneck for the possible scaling of pilots. On the other hand, new digital services or services based on digital platforms required different contracting systems and much more varied modes and methods of payment. For this purpose of service monetization, measurement systems for the related activities must be established, which must be secure and truthful. The casuistry, from the contracting of units of use individually or by packages, the use in a machine or in a group of machines, measurement by units or by time, by expiration…is very wide and a matrix of cases and technologies to be used in each one must be established to established the offer.

The main objective of the project is to exchange experiences, analyze tools, design and customize the toolkit of tools for the service, preparing it for use under the aforementioned concepts of subscription payments in various modalities. This includes the need to separate or develop adapters that allow secure remote downloading, secure romote enabling of options, and the transmission of temporary licenses or licenses with a certain number of uses of various applications.
