Today, 11th February, is the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, a date of great relevance that Fagor Automation, once again, wanted to highlight due to its importance.
In line with the two previous years, last Thursday 8th February, 30 students aged between 16 and 17 from Arizmendi Ikastola visited the headquarters of Fagor Automation in Eskoriatza, in order to show the girls who have opted for the Science and Technology pathway in the High School that there are women in scientific roles and to share experiences.
This is an initiative that the company is celebrating for the third consecutive year and of which it highlights, year after year, the positive results obtained from it.
For this, we have had the privilege of having the participation of five women who occupy different roles in scientific areas within Fagor Automation; Many thanks to Lorena Martínez, María Nafarrate, Ainara Elorza, Estibaliz Aranbarri and Maider Rodrigo for sharing their experiences and the challenges they have faced in their professional careers.
Fagor Automation’s commitment
Despite the progress made, the road towards greater visibility of women in science is still under construction. Fagor Automation is committed to continue celebrating this important day with the aim of promoting the importance of the presence of women in the field of science and technology, while at the same time promoting new job opportunities for them.
Finally, we would like to thank the students of Arizmendi Ikastola, as well as those responsible for the center, for helping to bring women closer to industry through this type of initiative.
