Description and objectives:
PowerizeD focuses on improving the way power is generated and transmitted through the use of digitised and intelligent power electronics. The approach integrates control, driver and switching functions to improve performance, through the use of new circuit models, advanced control strategies and AI, aiming for robust and reliable operation. It focuses on the intelligence of power electronics, thus contributing to the decarbonisation of European society and climate protection.
Making use of digital twins for real-time monitoring and control of power electronics, based on detailed electrical models for monitoring purposes. In addition, data privacy plays an important role, so federated learning, a collaborative approach that enables encrypted transfer of sensitive data, will be addressed.
The aim is to work to reduce power losses, increase the lifetime of devices and systems, reduce chip size and reduce design time. All of this is aligned with the trends of self-sufficiency, sustainability and digitalisation for the benefit of the economy and society.
