The companies that make up this consortium are <a href=\"http:\/\/www.goratu.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Goratu<\/a> (Basque Country), <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artis.de\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Artis<\/a> (Germany), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.predict.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Predict<\/a> (France), <a href=\"http:\/\/www.monition.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Monition Limited<\/a> (United Kingdom), and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ltu.se\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lule\u00e5 University of Technology<\/a> (Sweden).<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-77673\" src=\"https:\/\/www-dev.fagorautomation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/datos-powerom-300x226.jpeg\" alt=\"datos-powerOM\" width=\"300\" height=\"226\" \/>With a budget of 3.8 million euro, funded by the EU through the 7<sup>th<\/sup> Framework Program, <strong>it has developed a smart maintenance system<\/strong> that proposes the use of the electric current consumption signal as a new way of incorporating predictive maintenance techniques and <strong>improve productiveness <\/strong>by addressing three aspects: <strong>optimizing maintenance strategies, managing energy consumption in a more efficient way, and improving the reliability of the equipment and critical elements to reduce downtime.<\/strong><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_77672\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-77672\" style=\"width: 290px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-77672 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www-dev.fagorautomation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/aitor-alzaga-300x255.jpeg\" alt=\"aitor-alzaga\" width=\"300\" height=\"255\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-77672\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Aitor Alzaga, deputy director of technology at IK4-TEKNIKER<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Aitor Alzaga, researcher at IK4-Tekniker and Chief Science Officer of the Power-OM project, explains that this novel strategy evaluates the <em>health<\/em> of the machine through the execution of testing cycles specifically designed for the diagnosis of the most critical machine components, thus generating a report of the machine condition.
