Operating a machine axis may be a great hazard for humans, especially for work done in the machine area. In such cases, the different axis of the machine must be controlled in a safe way assuring that a non-controlled movement of the machine axis cannot occur.<\/p>\n

For such safety applications, FAGOR AUTOMATION is committed to the requests of our customers and partners<\/strong>, especially in regards to making applications safer.<\/p>\n

Now, our encoders G3-FS, S3-FS, and SV3-FS fulfil the functional safety standards for machinery EN ISO 13849-1:2015 and EN 61800-5-2:2016<\/strong>. These families of encoders also achieve the standards for relevant electronic equipment on functional safety IEC 61508:2010<\/strong> as well as the newest standards IEC 61800-5-3:2021<\/strong>, specific for encoders. According to these standards FAGOR safety encoders can be operated as single-encoder systems for SIL 2 or Performance Level d applications. FAGOR has been audited and certified by T\u00dcV S\u00dcD<\/strong> during all the development process.<\/p>\n
