Description and objectives:
The main objective of the ACCUBASK project is to make a qualitative leap in precision engineering technologies in order to achieve machines and production systems with higher performance than the current ones. Through the results of the project, the aim is to achieve intelligent, efficient and sustainable processes in terms of the use of resources and zero-defects with respect to the final quality of the processed part. In this sense, precision is one of the three axes that define high-performance machines and manufacturing systems: 1) availability, ensuring capable, reliable and controlled equipment, 2) automation, allowing work to be unassisted and connected, and 3) precision, guaranteeing that production meets the defined quality standards.
To achieve the main objective, three major technological challenges have been identified:
CHALLENGE 1: Part metrology. To research new technologies that allow achieving part and machine metrology solutions for their integration in production environments with demanding operating conditions, far from the controlled conditions of a metrology laboratory and ensuring measurements with controlled uncertainty.
CHALLENGE 2: Geometric precision of manufacturing systems. Research applied to ensuring the geometric precision of the different machines and production systems addressed in the project, reflecting the Basque manufacturing industry.
CHALLENGE 3: Intelligent and responsible processing. Research in processing and analysis methods based on advanced research in hybrid models, combining physics-based models with new trends in artificial intelligence.
